AERPAW Data and Compute Store
The AERPAW Data-and-Compute Store has successfully migrated to a different physical facility within NC State, which will provide a longer-term home for it, and provides room for growth both in capacity, and the inclusion of more system facilities such as hardware network appliances and storage in support of more efficient and streamlined operations of the AERPAW Secure Backplane.
During Phase-2 development, the AERPAW Web Portal is being revamped to make the Experimenter’s workflow easier and more efficient; among other things, a more intuitive and expressive way to create new AERPAW experiments. The RENCI team of AERPAW is leading this effort. The new Portal, supported by an updated data backend providing enhanced functionality, is expected to become generally available to Experimenters at the conclusion of Phase-2, in November 2022. Earlier this month, the larger AERPAW team got an early glimpse of the new Portal as currently envisioned. A development team at NCSU is already trying out the enhanced automation programming capability provided by the updated data backend. Over the next month, we expect acceptance testing of the new Portal and data backend to complete, followed by enhanced automation work.
