We will have 4 ft x 8 ft double-sided tack boards for poster display. Each tack board will hold four posters (two on each side), as shown in the picture below.
Poster Presentation
- As typical with posters, you will be expected to briefly present your poster in person to attendees who stop by, some of whom will be tasked with judging your posters. Please plan to be available for some time at your own poster, while you take the rest of the time to look at the other posters.
- There will be no opportunity to make a formal presentation with slides.
- Lightning talks are different from posters! You can present a poster without making a lightning talk, and vice versa. Of course, if you make both, they can be on the same topic and based on the same research or research idea. But they need not be. If you have both a lightning talk and a poster, they will be judged independently.
Poster Printing and Logistics
- We have arranged an optional printing service to help you with poster printing so you do not have to worry about printing and transporting your poster. If you want to use this service, please fill out the poster printing form. If you choose not to use this service, you should bring your printed poster on Day 3 of the event.
- Poster spaces will be marked by your full name to easily identify your poster location. You will locate your spot and hang your poster during the event’s lunch break on Day 3.
- Thumbtack pins will be provided to hang posters.

Poster Competition and Awards
We will have a Posters Evaluation Committee to review and rate posters during the poster session. The first three winners will be awarded as follows.
- First prize – $350
- Second prize – $250
- Third Prize – $150
Poster Scoring Rubric
- Clarity and effectiveness of verbal communication (40%)
- Visual design and presentation quality (30%)
- Relevance to AERPAW and potential for experimentation (30%)
- Note: If there is potential to test the idea in AERPAW, participants should receive a higher score. If the idea is already tested in AERPAW or elsewhere, that is great, but it does not necessarily earn a higher score.
