October 2022

This month AERPAW tests two new small portable nodes and had a flight demonstration for NC State students.

Two brand new small portable nodes (SPNs) ready for tests with the AERPAW small AERPAW multicopters (SAM4): one features a Quectel 4G/5G modem (two RX antennas and two TX antennas), and the other one is ready to receive one of the two Samsung S21 Ultra phones. Both will enable physical layer and above experiments with the Ericsson equipment.

A Large AERPAW multicopter (LAM) and a small AERPAW multicopter (SAM), resting after a long day in the field. Both have their respective payloads (the LAM a large portable node with a B205 mini on it, and the SAM a small portable node with the Quectel Modem on it).

NC State hosted the FAA Sourthern Region Drone Symposium “Droning On”  As part of the 2 day event an AERPAW LAM was on static display and was flown as part of a flight demonstration.  Over 200 people attended the event.
