AERPAW Outdoor Demonstration at GRCon26

AERPAW will host an outdoor field demonstration as part of GNU Radio Conference 2026 (GRCon26) at NC State University. GRCon26 will take place September 21–25 at Talley Student Union and will bring together researchers, developers, industry professionals, and software-defined radio enthusiasts from across the community.
The AERPAW outdoor demonstration will showcase the platform’s capabilities for advanced wireless research and provide attendees with an opportunity to see AERPAW in action.

2026 PAWR PI Meeting

AERPAW will participate in the 2026 Platforms for Advanced Wireless Research (PAWR) PI Meeting on September 28 at George Washington University. The meeting will bring together PAWR research platforms, researchers, and partners to highlight ongoing work and discuss the future of advanced wireless research.
MERIF

The PAWR PI Meeting will be followed by MERIF on September 29–30 in Washington, DC. AERPAW will continue to engage with the broader research community through this event and related discussions on advanced networking and wireless research.
5G OpenAirInterface Workshop
October 2026 | Raleigh, NC
AERPAW will be involved in the upcoming OpenAirInterface (OAI) Foundation Hands-on Workshop, hosted at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina, on October 13–14, 2026. The two-day workshop will bring together researchers, developers, and practitioners for hands-on work across the OAI RAN, UE, Core Network, and RIC platforms.
This year’s workshop will highlight emerging technologies including AI-native wireless networks and Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC), with sessions focused on open-source software development, network automation, AI-assisted engineering, and sensing-aware network control.
As part of the workshop, participants will take part in a hands-on hackathon exploring challenges across the mobile network stack, including RAN/GPU offloading, MAC/RRM scheduling, uplink power control, FlexRIC load balancing, and AI-driven QoS adaptation. The program will also include an AERPAW site visit, providing participants with an opportunity to learn more about AERPAW’s wireless experimentation capabilities.
The workshop will be held at Duke Energy Hall in the James B. Hunt Jr. Library on NC State’s Centennial Campus. Seating is limited, and registration is encouraged early.
Call for Demos & Lightning Talks: Researchers and practitioners are also invited to showcase their work through a live demonstration or 10-minute lightning talk. Proposals are due September 14, 2026.
