June 2026 Update

AERPAW was featured at NI Connect 2026 in Fort Worth, Texas, highlighting its role as a national research platform advancing wireless innovation and autonomous aerial systems.

Representing AERPAW, NC State University Ph.D. candidate Mushfiqur Rahman presented the platform’s capabilities and demonstrated how researchers are leveraging AERPAW’s software-defined radio (SDR)-enabled infrastructure to explore next-generation wireless networks and unmanned aerial system (UAS) autonomy. The presentation showcased AERPAW’s unique combination of programmable wireless experimentation resources, drone platforms, and large-scale outdoor testing environments that enable cutting-edge research in areas such as 5G/6G communications, aerial networking, and autonomous systems.

The event brought together academic researchers, industry leaders, and technology innovators from around the world, providing an opportunity to discuss how AERPAW is supporting the development and evaluation of future wireless technologies. Attendees learned about the platform’s extensive capabilities, representative SDR-driven experiments, and real-world research applications that are helping shape the next generation of aerial connectivity and wireless communications.

AERPAW’s participation at NI Connect 2026 reflects the platform’s continued impact on advancing wireless research and fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and government partners.
